Brain Tumors in Children Another thing to remember, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a child or an adult because when dealing with brain tumors, there is no specific age of patients afflicted. Medical statistics say that brain tumors are one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in persons below the age of 20, and this includes infants. For infants with brain tumors the symptoms are as follows: bulging fontanelles, or the soft spot at the crown, separated sutures or the cranium, increased head circumference, and no red reflex in the eye. Moreover, young adults and children with brain tumor have tongue problems, swallowing difficulty, problems with the sense of smell, obesity, uncontrollable and dysfunctional movement, and facial paralysis. Eye problems may also be symptoms, including different sized pupils, uncontrollable eye movements, and eyelid drooping. |
