Anemia Symptoms

A Discussion of Anemia and its Symptoms.

Iron Deficiency Anemia Pernicious Anemia Symptoms

One of the most common disorders of the blood is anemia, which is characterized by a decrease in the number of red blood cells (RBC) in the body. It can be caused by any one of the following: excessive loss of blood and destruction of the red blood cells, insufficient production of RBC’s, or it may be inherited. This kind of condition induces tissue hypoxia or an inadequate supply of oxygen from the blood to the tissues, later compromising their functions.

Not aware that you have anemia?

Most of the time, people are not aware that they have anemia. However, here are a few signs that you should look out for, for you to determine whether you or the people around you have this kind of sickness: tarry or bloody stools, frequent fatigue, poor concentration, shortness of breath, and an increase in one’s heart rate and palpitations. Pale skin may also serve as a basis, though this type of symptom is not always reliable. Jaundice, low blood pressure, chest and abdominal pains, and loss of weight may also be evident on patients with such condition.
